Sew the complete strip securely onto the front pillow panel.
For an integrated patchwork look, use the animal’s body color to surface crochet around each square.

Assembling Each Pillow
- Complete all facial embroidery on the front panel.
- Sew the granny-square strip onto the lower body.
- Attach ears securely.
- Place front and back panels together with wrong sides facing.
- Sc evenly through both layers around the outer edge.
- Leave approximately 12 cm open.
- Add polyester fiberfill gradually.
- Shape the corners while stuffing.
- Do not overstuff.
- Close the remaining opening with sc or mattress stitch.
Attaching the Arms
Position the arms slightly below the midpoint of each pillow.
Sew only the upper 3-4 cm of each arm to the body.
Leaving the lower portion loose creates the sweet dangling-arm appearance.
Recommended Color Palette
- Bear: cocoa brown, camel, rust, cream and dusty peach
- Fox: terracotta, cream, sage and muted orange
- Cat: ivory, dusty rose, muted sage and soft terracotta
- Bunny: sage, cream, blush and warm coral
Optional Removable Pillow Insert
Instead of permanently stuffing the crochet pillow, make a fabric insert approximately 2 cm smaller than the finished crochet cover.
Add buttons or a zipper along the lower edge of the crochet cover.
This makes washing easier, especially if the cushions are used in a child’s bedroom.

Frequently Asked Questions
An adventurous beginner can make them, but some experience with granny squares, increasing, decreasing, sewing crochet pieces and basic shaping will make the project easier.
Yes. Each design works as an individual pillow. The shared construction simply makes it easy to create the full coordinated set.
Yes. Add stitches to the foundation chain and additional rows to both body panels. Increase the granny-square size proportionally so the patchwork section remains balanced.
Embroidered eyes are recommended for decorative cushions intended around babies or very young children because there are no detachable plastic pieces.
A soft acrylic, cotton-acrylic blend or smooth anti-pilling yarn works well. Cotton produces more stitch definition, while acrylic creates a softer and lighter cushion.
Yes, depending on the yarn used. A removable insert is the easiest option. Always follow the washing instructions on the yarn label and allow the crochet cover to dry completely before reshaping.
